Baydon W.I News

Mrs Sheila McCleery chaired the October meeting of the Baydon W.I. and welcomed the speaker Mrs Pamela Clements.

Mrs Clements delighted members and friends with and interesting and amusing account of nursery rhymes, songs, games and toys from the past. She is an avid collector of these items and brought along a good selection to demonstrate throughout her talk. On Thursday 9^th November W.I. members, partners and friends gathered at The White Hart, in Wroughton, for their annual skittles tournament, in the newly refurbished skittle alley. During the evening time was taken to enjoy a very nice meal.

Mr Jim Thompson won the men’s section and Mrs Tina Evans collected the trophy and the ladies prize. This was followed by the raffle prize draw.

The Membury Fort Group, which include the Women’s Institutes of Aldbourne, Ramsbury, Chilton Foliat and Baydon, will meet on December 11^th for their Annual Carol Service at Baydon St. Nicholas Church.

	1.5.2006	The next meeting of the Baydon W.I. will be held at the BYPA Hall on Thursday 13^th May 2006 when members will discuss and vote on the National Federation of Women’s Institutes resolutions for 2006.
