Women’s Institute:

 

Mrs Christine Ralph was presented with a gift as she chaired her last meeting of the W.I. as president.

She thanked her hardworking and loyal committee namely, Mrs Penny Stephens – treasurer; Mrs Tina Evans – secretary; Mrs Juliet Keel – programme secretary; Mrs Sheila McCleery – competition secretary and Mrs Carol-Anne Routledge – tea hostess.

Mrs Ralph said in her annual report, that she had thoroughly enjoyed her years as president, but felt that she was handing over to someone who would do an excellent job. Mrs Sheila McCLeery was voted the next President.

 

The overall annual winner of the monthly competitions was 1st – Mrs Juliet Keel and 2nd – Mrs Tina Evans.

Mrs Barbara Furber was awarded the cup for overall winner of the Bloom of the Month, Mrs Tina Evans was second.

 

The members concluded the evening with a General Knowledge Quiz and Dingbats prepared by Christine Ralph.

The competition, A Memory of Baydon –was won by Mrs Pat Thompson – 2nd Mrs Joele McGowran.  Bloom of the month was won by Mrs Tina Evans – 2nd Mrs Juliet Keel.
