The next meeting of the Baydon W.I. will be held at the BYPA Hall on Thursday 13th May 2006 when members will discuss and vote on the National Federation of Women’s Institutes resolutions for 2006.

 

Mrs Juliet Keel will outline the arguments involved in “Sport for a healthy population”

 

1.       This meeting urges Her Majesty’s government to recognise that participation in sport is an essential factor in the creation of a healthy population; to ensure the re-establishment of competitive (main stream) sport in the curricula of all schools; to take such steps as are necessary to reverse the decline in the availability of sporting facilities for all citizens, particularly in the light of the 2012 Olympics being awarded to the City of London.

 

Mrs Penny Stephens will present the Renewable Energy resolution;

 

  1. This meeting urges Her Majesty’s government to put in place legislation and policies requiring the use of renewable energy technology in all new buildings, rebuilding and renovation.

 

This will be followed by an “American” Supper.
