The Friends are in the process of handing over a
cheque for £450 to the school to purchase small construction/world
play for classes 1 and 2. This is so items can be ordered and purchased
in time for the new school term in September 2008

June Fete - this was a great success and over £2,000 was
raised by the event. Please

Lunchtime cover - we are absolutely desperate for
help at lunchtimes. Any offer of help does not have to be a regular
commitment. Please contact the school office if you are interested
Vacancy for a School Crossing Officer - we are currently
undertaking a School Travel Plan project (see separate news item below)
and related to this are the issues of the speed of traffic through the
village and children needing to safely cross Ermin Street. A position of
School Crossing Officer is currently available. The rate of pay is £
6.77 per hour, with both training and the uniform being provided. More
information with regards to the post can be obtained from Mr Peter
Chambers at the School
Friends of Baydon School - a News Report has been issued
to congratulate the winner of the recent FoBS logo competition, announce
the massive success of the Bags2School collection, and issue an update
on the timing of the School Fayre taking place on 9th May.

Wagtails Registration Forms - Please can parents and
carers wishing to use the Wagtails Club (breakfast or after-school
sessions) complete a new registration form. Click to print off

Dates
Thursday 4th September - Start of the new school term.
Please remember that Sodexho have increased the cost of school meals
from today to £2 per day (note this was subsequently changed
following Wednesday 3rd September now being a Teacher Development Day)
Thursday 25th September - the Friends of Baydon
School AGM today, from 2pm at the school
Wednesday 15th October - Raising Funds Via A
Bags2School Event. Please can we ask villagers/parents to save any
unwanted clothing, shoes, handbags, bedding, curtains and soft toys over
the summer holidays. The Friends of Baydon School (FoBS) have organised
another Bags2School event, and they will collect bags on Wednesday 15th
October from the school playground at 9.00am. Bags will be distributed
to pupils/villagers from mid September, with extra supplies being left
with Debbie in the shop
Friday 24th October - this is a Teacher Development
Day, so the school is closed to pupils
