The Baydon Resources Group
The Baydon Resources Group is a registered charity that was set up with the aim of providing recreational amenities for the inhabitants of Baydon. The scope of leisure time facilities that the group would consider providing is not limited to play grounds for young children, it covers all age groups, including adults, and all types of recreational activities.
The Executive Committee, which meets every 6 weeks, comprises of 5 Baydon villagers (Steve Webb, David Price-Goodfellow, Peter Jackson, Liz Carmichael and Charlie Rixon). Their role is that of a steering group which facilitates projects. This includes helping with grant funding, liaising with local authorities and exploring opportunities to acquire land.
The group is currently providing support for Kate Buckingham and the Bike Track Committee. The next project that is starting to get under way is for a local playground. We would like your ideas on what types of play equipment to provide, so please look out for the questionnaire that will appear in Scene in Baydon.
From time to time we’ll be looking for volunteers to join a project team. If you would like to be involved or would just like to know what’s going on, please check out the notices that will appear in Scene in Baydon and on the Baydon website.
